Aging Cajuns Adventures

       What day is this?      One of the biggest side effects of living a nomadic life is confusion -- we are constantly asking ourselves, "What day is this?" Thankfully, a quick glance at our phone's calendar remedies our temporary memory loss. We love the freedom of choosing where and how we get to spend each day, even though we can't remember what day of the week we woke up to!     Where are we going next?      We are both planners, especially when it comes to vacations, but since we are taking an extended one at a much slower pace, we have to ask ourselves, "Where are we going next?" We are totally freestyling it, which is how we wanted to do this, but it is also making it a bit of a challenge regarding arranging our future stops.       Delhi, Louisiana      On Monday, July 13th, we left our home base of Abbeville, LA, and traveled to the northeast region of our state, an area we don't recall ever visiting before.  We stayed at Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in Delhi, LA.  This park is conveniently located just a few miles north of I-20, has fantastic amenities, and we highly recommend it for anyone traveling through the top right corner of "The Boot."     Included as part of the State Park's facilities, but located a few miles north, is a marina, concession store, fishing pier, and a beach.  Both areas have a boat launch, a well-equipped fish cleaning station, picnic areas, and air-conditioned public restrooms.      It's so easy to highlight and commemorate the BIG blessings in our lives, the ones where you're completely blown away by them, and you have no qualms about sharing them just because of how awesome they are.  We know we've got some big adventures ahead of us that will definitely qualify as being breathtakingly awesome and would attract more readers.        However, in this post, we're going to highlight some recent experiences that have been a blessing to us and are worth pausing to reflect on.
